In 2010, the renovation project of the old panel houses in Halle (Halle) made arhbyuro Stefan Forster Architekten, won an award at the international exhibition as the best example of urban renewal in the states of Saxony-Anhalt. The project concept is based on the idea of "walking a tightrope" between the two different parts of the city - the historical center and the area 1960 years of construction.

Reconstruction of two L-shaped panel buildings marked the beginning of large-scale renovation of the Soviet legacy in a small town in East Germany, Leinefelde. A key element in the design was the masonry on the first level, which performs several functions: provides the foundation building, allowing you to create elevated private gardens at ground level, and establishes a kind of barrier, a buffer zone between the building and the street.
