Sex and the demons. How do people "went to bed with Satan," to escape responsibility?
For many centuries all over the world people said that they had an intimate relationship with supernatural beings. Quite a lot of cases these "relations" has even been recorded in history. Most historians believe that "sexual demons" arose from the need to explain some shameful acts that are actually in the society considered strictly taboo.
This could be an unplanned or "walk" the pregnancy, abortion and promiscuity, both male and female. All of these shameful acts necessarily imposed on the public, and people can even drive out, taking him for a servant of Satan. As a result, society has come up with several versions of these same "sexual demons" who incited people to immoral actions, under the guise of different guises, but pursuing the same goal.
According to the Hebrew Scriptures, the Nephilim were a race of giants, which were considered by the fallen angels for having shared a bed with a simple mortal women. The Hebrew term "Nephilim" is translated as "the fallen". The story begins with the fallen Shemhazai, one of the chief angels, who was called down to earth with a group of "feathered friends" to teach people good deeds. For many centuries, the angels live among the people, carrying out its mission, but some went down from the race, we started sharing a bed with mortal women, and those, in turn, gave birth to their new "nefilimchikov". It was believed that an angel and a mortal woman union is doomed, in principle, as well as their common child. Most historians have found records that the Nephilim felt something not only terrible, but what can bring the pain, devastation and disease around the world. That is why the war broke out between the archangel Gabriel and the Nephilim, who after contractions were completely destroyed.
2 Succubus and Incubus
This is likely the most well-known "sexual demons". Succubus is a woman - an attractive, passionate, seductive and very sexual. All its beauty is the creation attracts men and lure them into their networks. It is believed that the legend of the succubus appeared in the Middle Ages. It was at that time the priests were extremely anxious about the various sins, especially sexual sins of women.
Male version of Succubus - this incubus. Like his colleague, Incubus - incredibly attractive and seductive man, it is actually a bane for those who became his victim. These two sexy demon suck all the strength and vitality of his "beloved". Unlike the Succubus, Incubus, obviously, was a supporter of traditional family values and a fighter with the demographic crisis so often, from a communication pregnant women. Mother bore due time, but the child was born, though zhivim, but without breathing and heartbeat. According to some legends, Merlin the magician is a child of an incubus and ordinary women.
Some non-traditional interpretation of the Bible even claim that the Virgin Mary virginity stripped Incubus, so the fruit of their forbidden love still bypasses the most popular of all the most famous rock stars. Many believe that Incubus is likely to have emerged as scapegoats to medieval men did not have to be responsible for the rape and its consequences. Presumably, the rapist was easier to explain his action clouding reason and attack something supernatural, than look in the mirror and realize that goat's horns and hooves have not only invented the Devil.
3. "popobawa" or bat
popobawa (which in Swahili means "bat") - is a large creature with wings, one huge eye and a very large sexual organ. According to legend he is pursuing both women and men of Zanzibar, Africa and the surrounding islands. This creature often takes the form of a man, or some wild animal. Usually it comes in the house of his future victims at night and does not go away as long as there will not share a bed with anyone who is in the house. Legend of popobawa first appeared on the island of Pemba in 1965, and notes on it, and different materials were published in 2007. There are several different theories about the origin of this creature. Some say that it is an evil spirit.
In 2007, a researcher Benjamin Radford began to study in detail the story of popobawa and came to very interesting conclusions. The roots of all the legends about this strange and terrifying creature emerged from the Islamic religion. According to Redford, "the preaching of the religion of Islam or reading the Koran is able to keep popobawa from attack." Another theory is that it is being absorbed all the horrors of slavery, and it was just the personification.
